James C. "Jim" Roman II, age 39 of Youngstown NY, died Monday December 27, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a short illness. Jim was born May 21, 1971 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of Judy (Smith) Roman of Youngstown and the late James C. Roman. He was a 1988 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School and received an Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Niagara County Community College. For the last 21 years Jim was employed by National Grid as a Hot Stick Lineman. He also worked with his late father at Roman Electric. Jim married Renee (Taylor) Roman on May 18, 2002. Jim loved sailing and traveling with his wife and son. He was a member of the Youngstown Yacht Club where he enjoyed taking part in the Regatta's and racing, especially NOOD racing. Jim also helped coach his son's soccer, wrestling, and baseball teams. He is survived by his wife, Renee; his son, James C. Roman, III; and his mother, Judy (Smith) Roman, all of Youngstown. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Thursday from 12 Noon to 3 pm and 5 to 9 pm. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 31, at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Susan Keppy officiating. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorials may be made to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240-9856.
