Obituary of Helen C. Proper

Helen C. Proper, age 74, of Ransomville entered into rest on Friday, September 2nd, 2022, at home under the care of Niagara Hospice. Helen was born on February 28th, 1948, in Lockport, NY. She is the daughter of the late Rutherford and the late Catherine (McCutcheon) Hayes. She married James A. Proper on April 9th, 1966, he predeceased her on September 22nd, 2012 She was employed by Ransomville Bus Lines as a School Bus Driver for Wilson CSD for 35 years. She was a foster mother, a host to foreign exchange students, gardening, crafts, spending time outdoors, hosting Sunday dinners and spending time with her family. Helen was a rescuer of dogs and cats and loved her fur babies. She was a long time member of the Ransomville United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school. Surviving is her children, Patti (Jesse Sr.) Buzzard, Steven (Kim) Proper, Christine LaRock and Lisa Carney-Brochey; her sister Jo-Onna Hayes (Ike Hartijuian); 16 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and very close friends the Miho Torigoshi-Rhinehart family. Calling hours will be Thursday, September 8th from 4-7 PM. and Friday, September 9th from 4-7 PM. at Hardison Funeral Homes Inc., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM. following visitation in the funeral home.
