Obituary of Lawrence M. Conaway

Lawrence M. Conaway 56 years old entered into rest December 12, 2010 after a long illness. He was born December 4, 1954, the son of Margaret A. Conaway and the late Dennis E. Conaway. He attended local schools, including Empire State University, where he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry. He became the Chief Analytical Chemist for Western Technologies Inc. and then the Environmental Director for Envirosure Inc. In 1988, he started the company, Alpha Analytical, in Niagara Falls, NY, where he served as President and CEO for five years. Mr. Conaway served as a private consultant until 1996. After which, he started his company, Continuum Environmental, serving as President and CEO until 2004. During this time, he acquired 7 patents including "Methods for Recovering Hydrocarbons for Tar Sand and Oil Shale". In 2007, until his illness began, he was the Chief Chemist for Zeta Global Ltd. He traveled worldwide working in Saudi Arabia, China, India, Canada and his beloved Ireland. He was a member of the American Society of Testing Materials, the American Chemical Society, the American Society of Agronomy and the Who's Who Continental Life Long Registry. In addition to his Mother, Mr. Conaway is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy J. Conaway, stepsons, Adrian Melcher, Erich (Nicole) Melcher, Sisters Cheryl A. Conaway, and Denise (Michael) Crogan. He is also survived by Caylen (Beth) Wojcik, Peter M. Wojcik and grandchildren Ella, Koen, and Will. There will be no prior visitation.
