Gilbert James Harris Sr (Jim) Born August 29,1935 passed in his home in Scio, NY August 22, 2022. Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Beverly (March 23, 2015), brothers Philip (Lee) and Harry (Bud), sisters Ruth (Tubby), Alfaretta (Peach) and Jane. Jim is survived by his younger brother Richard Harris (wife Peggy), sister-in-law Lillian Harris; his five children: Gilbert (Jim) Harris Jr (wife Cheryl), Gifford ( Al) Harris (wife Lynette), Donald Harris (wife Mary), Valerie Middaugh (husband Wayne), and Ellen Ludwig (husband Keith), daughter-in-law MarySue Harris, sixteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Jim worked hard all his life as a truck driver, welder, dairy and beef farmer. He enjoyed building and driving race cars at Ransomville Speedway, hunting, camping with family, and watching Buffalo Bills football and Sabres hockey. Jim most recently suffered from Alzheimer’s and was cared for at home by his amazing daughter Valerie and her husband Wayne. A loving Husband, Father, Uncle and Grandpa, Jim will be greatly missed. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 2:00pm at Hartland Central Cemetery 8541 Ridge Rd, Gasport, NY 14067 where his ashes will be laid to rest with his wife Beverly and their favorite beagle Bingo.
