Obituary of Marvin W. Maines

Marvin W. Maines, age 92, of Lewiston died Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Marvin was born November 13, 1929 in Clearfield, PA, the son of the late Henry A. and Elizabeth (Ferguson) Maines. He worked at Kimberly Clark in Niagara Falls for 26 years and retired from the Wilson Central School District in 1994 after 11 years as the Head Groundskeeper. Marvin was an avid hunter who loved hunting with his family as well as spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Forestview Church of God where he especially enjoyed and was uplifted by his nephew's, Rev, Ronald Maines, worship services on Sunday. Marvin married Betty L. Edevane on June 24, 1950. She predeceased him January 13, 2015. He is survived by his children, Betty Lou (Kenny) Cooke and Marvin "Dennis" Maines; his grandchildren, Rachael Cooke (Dustin Bianchin), Aaron Cooke, Julie (Isaac) Anthony, Dennis(Kristen) and Drew (Shannon) Maines; his great grandchildren, Levi, Hannah, Sam, Sarah, Griffin, Stella, Evan, and Emmy Lou. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Ronald and Robert Maines, and a sister, Edith Irene Banks. Friends may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday, August 19, from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 PM. Funeral services be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 20, at the Forestview Church of God, 1250 Saunders Settlement Rd., Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Ronald Maines officiating. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Forestview Church of God, 1250 Saunders Settlement Rd. Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
