Obituary of Kathleen R. Banks

Kathleen (Kathy) R. Banks, age 90 and a long-term Lewiston resident, passed peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Kathy, the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (Poorman) Garvey, was born on January 28, 1932, in Phillipsburg, PA. She graduated from NFHS in 1949 and married C. Carl "Bud" Banks on April 19, 1952. Kathy and Bud enjoyed nearly 66 years together before Bud’s passing on March 19, 2018. Kathy was a whiz with numbers. She worked in the Sear’s accounting department in Niagara Falls for thirty years followed by thirteen years in the AP department at NF Memorial until she retired in 1993. Outside of work Kathy enjoyed volunteering and contributed thousands of hours of her time at Artpark, Kleinhans Music Hall and Mt. Saint Mary’s Hospital among others. Kathy and Bud were Snowbirds for many years and enjoyed wintering in Cape Coral Florida. Surviving are her four children; Deena (Dan) Hucko, Michael (Valerie) Banks, Annette Banks (Curtis Meyer) and Christopher (Maja) Banks; her sisters Frances Powell and Patricia Schiesser; 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister Rose Mary Garvey. The family will hold a private entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Also, the family will hold calling hours at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. Lewiston, NY 14092 (N. Fourth St. and Ridge St.) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 7th.
