Obituary of James Syruws

James "Jimmy" Syruws, age 84, of Ransomville died Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at his home under the loving care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Jimmy was born December 29, 1937 in Fairmont, WV, the son of the late Albine and Eva (Lewis) Syruws. and has resided in Ransomville for over 20 years.
He was employed by Hooker/Oxy Chemical as a repairman for over 40 years. Jimmy enjoyed restoring old cars especially Thunderbirds. He was a hunter and enjoyed being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy E. (Calvert) Syruws whom he married on October 19, 1957. In addition to Nancy he is survived by two daughters, Sharon Nablo (Frank Scarfone) and Karen Pittman; a son: Jamie (Janice) Syruws; three sisters, Joan (Joe) Delabio, Geraldine (Bill) Haskill and Linda Thompson. Also survived by six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Ashley, one sister and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception RC Church, 4671 Town Line Rd., Ransomville on Monday May 16, at 10:00 am with the Rev. James Bastian officiating. (Please assemble at Church) Burial will follow in Dickersonville Cemetery, Lewiston. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
