Obituary of Douglas K. Walch

Douglas Keith Walch, age 60, of Wilson died Monday, April 25th, 2022, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Douglas was born November 4th, 1961, in Rochester, NY. He is the son of the late Donald A. and the late Ann (Stenglein) Walch. He graduated from Albion CSD in 1979 going on to SUNY Binghamton earning his B.A. Doug married Sandra Stikons on September 24, 1982, in Binghamton, NY. Doug was a professional geophysist in the states of NY and PA. After a 35-year career at U.S Energy Development Corp. Doug continued to work in his chosen field on projects throughout the country as a self-employed consultant. Doug was the past President of the Buffalo Association of Professional Geologists and most recently became a board member of the Wilson Historical Society continuing his lifelong passion of history. Surviving is his wife, Sandra Walch; their children; Ian (Meg) Walch, Kevin (Alley Grace) Walch, Martha Walch, Patrick (Kelsey) Walch and Tim (Nicole Palumbo) Walch; his siblings. Barbara (Joe) Jackson, David (Mona) Walch, Joan Walch, Janet (Late Gary) Gibbs Linda (William) Minsinger, Coni (Late Charles) Dwinal, Daniel (Barb) Walch, Dean Walch; 3 grandchildren, Jameson and Cecily Walch and Jude Grace-Walch, also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Calling hours will be Friday, April 29th from 4-8 PM at Hardison Funeral Home, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, April 30th at St. Brendan On The Lake RC Church, 345 Lake St., Wilson, NY with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating.
