Virginia was born May 10, 1925 in Olean, NY, the daughter of the late Earle and Mary (Sackinger) Wainman and resided in Youngstown the past 56 years. Ginny was a beloved member of Youngstown's community, cherished and admired by all who knew her for her fiercely independent and unassuming spirit. She loved music and singing and was a leader in her church choir for many years.
Ginny was predeceased by her adored husband, G. Thomas Jackson in 1989. She is survived by her children, Larry (Lisa) Jackson of Lockport, Susan (Winston) Collins of Youngstown, and Bill (Anita) Jackson of Waukesha, WI; a sister, Phyllis MacDonald of Rochester and her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marty, Mary and Nancy, and her brothers Walt and Benjamin.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ginny's Funeral Service on Monday, November 29, at 1:00 PM at St. John's Episcopal Church, Main & Chestnut Sts., Youngstown, with the Rev. Ellen L. Brauza, Vicar, officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in Oakland Rural Cemetery, Lake Rd., Youngstown. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 366, Youngstown, NY 14174 to commemorate Mrs. Jackson's love for her Christian home.
