Obituary of Theodore A. Casper

Theodore A. “Ted” Casper, 93, of Lewiston, husband of Margaret M. Hansen
Casper entered into rest on Monday March 14, 2022, at Niagara Hospice House in
Lockport, NY. Born on November 29, 1928, in New Brunswick, NJ to his late
parents Harry and Elizabeth Garrick Casper. Ted Served in the U.S Army after high
school from 1949 till his discharge as a Corporal in 1951 where he was a
draftsman, field radio technician, and Military Police. He married Margaret
Hansen on April 21, 1951. Ted worked for Carborundum Co. for 40 years retiring in
1990 as a Master Craftsman, he was former President, Vice President, and
Treasurer of the Franklin Township Police Reserves. Ted was a member of the 1
St. Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, a member of the fix-it club, The Danish
Brotherhood Lodge #90, The Key River Safari, and the Niagara Anglers Association.
He was a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for 18 years where he
received the prestigious Silver Beaver Award. Ted volunteered in many areas, a
coach for the Lew-Port Youth Football Club, church, chauffeur, and wherever he
was called to serve. He was an excellent athlete, playing baseball, softball, body
surfer, skier, football player, and runner, and Master Angler. He was an expert
carpenter, woodworker, and an avid outdoorsman. His biggest joy was spending
time with his family.
Surviving is his wife, Margaret; their daughter Joyce Casper and son Lee (Late
Susan) Casper; grandchildren, Kevin, Joshua (Laurah) Casper, Jeanette Kestel,
Jennifer (Luke) Lowe, Ashlea Fuller, Bethany (Dana) Varney, Elizabeth “Liz” Hartz
(Jeff Bissell) and Bryan Hartz (Maureen “Mo” O’ Loughlin); 24 great grandchildren
and 1 great great grandchild. Ted is predeceased by his siblings Donald Casper,
Alice Fischer, and Barbara Bennett.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown
100 Church St. Youngstown, NY 14174 on FRIDAY March 18, 2022, at 1:00 PM.
with Rev. Dr. Rex Stewart officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the
Church.
