Rene Raymond. Lombardo, Sr., age 77, of Lewiston passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022, at home after a short bout with cancer. Rene was born on July 8, 1944, in Dieulouard, France. He is the son of the late John and the late Renee (Schouteeten) Lombardo. Rene graduated from Gates-Chili H.S and went on to serve in the U.S Navy from 1964 to 1970. He was employed by E.I. DuPont Co., Niagara Falls, NY and retired as the supervisor of production. Rene was an avid golfer, bowler, and all-around sportsman. He wrestled in the junior Olympics while serving the navy on the U.S.S Standly.
Rene is survived by his loving wife, Carol (Setzer) Lombardo; his children; Stephanie Lombardo, Marc (Kathleen) Lombardo, John (Karen) Vattimo, Ann (Dave) Drust and, Rene “Randy” (Tina) Lombardo Jr; a sister, Jeanette Dippel and brothers, Phillip (Sherry) Lombardo, Raymond (Kim) Lombardo and John (Dianna) Lombardo, also 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and a sister Carmel Cullum.
Rene will be forever remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love for family and friends.
