Please share a memory of Kathleen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Kathleen Ashton Wagner, 86, peacefully passed away shortly after midnight on February 8, 2022, due to complications from Parkinson’s and Covid 19.
Born on July 29th, 1935, in Lancashire, England, she grew up during a difficult time in the town of Oldham with World War 2 as a backdrop for 5 years. As a teen, she and her family moved to Hamilton, Canada where she lived until she met Roger Wagner and married.
Her father was a grocer in both countries and her mother was a professional too who owned her own hair salon, where Kathleen would also work.
Kathleen loved cats, dancing, gardening (she had won the honor of her neighborhood best yard several times) and traveling with her best friend John “Chip” Cipollini. She also loved living in her final home she dubbed, the chateau on the hill.
Kathleen was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Betty Ashton, her brother Gordon, her husband Roger Wagner and her son Mark Wagner. Survivors include her sons, John (wife Leslie) and Michael Wagner, her grandchildren Kimberly, Lauren, Madison and Nate. She also had a niece Karen and a nephew Craig. Kathleen (Nana Kit or Nana to her grandkids) always had a bowl of butterscotch candies that the kids remember fondly when they visited.
The family expresses appreciation to the Eureka Springs Hospital staff, and the many physicians who participated in her care over the years in Texas, Tennessee and Arkansas.
