Obituary of Hannah R. Ngaihte

Hannah Ngaihte, age 30, died tragically on December 30, 2021, in Santa Fe Springs, California after being hit by a car while jogging. She is survived by her husband Khup Ngaihte, her parents David and Beth (Swan) Larson, and her brothers Joseph, Daniel, Jay (Sean) Larson, Philip, and Jesse Larson, also her grandmother Eleanor Larson.
Hannah was a triplet, born in Buffalo, New York. She graduated from Amherst Central High School in 2009. She majored in Inclusive Childhood Education at Houghton College, graduating in 2012. She did two study abroad semesters, one in Tanzania and the other in the Balkans. She spent two summers teaching English in Tianjin, China. After graduating from Houghton College, she moved to Thailand, where she was certified in TEFL and learned to speak Thai. She taught at Bangkok Christian International School for one year, before joining Bridges to the Nations in Pattaya, where for two years she ministered to children and women who were vulnerable to or involved in the sex industry. After this, Hannah taught for 4 years at International Community School (ICS) in Bangkok. She met her husband Khup in Thailand, and they were married in Ithaca, New York in July 2018. They moved in August 2020 from Bangkok to Southern California, where she completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from California Southern University in September 2021. She was beginning her counseling practice and working towards being a licensed counselor, with the intention of returning with her husband Khup to Asia to do missions work together.
Hannah had a deep love for God and people, an adventurous and determined spirit and a heart for social justice and the less fortunate. In her short life, she made an indelible impression upon many and had a life-changing impact in the lives of many children and adults around the world.
Visiting hours will be held 2-5pm on Sunday (January 9th) at Hardison Funeral Home 401 Ridge St. (N.Fourth & Ridge Sts.) Lewiston, New York. The funeral service will be held 10am on Monday, January 10th at Niagara Frontier Bible Church 5287 Bronson Dr. Lewiston, New York.
