Timothy R. Close, age 79, of Appleton, formerly of Cambria, died Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, Town of Tonawanda, NY. Timothy was born on March 4, 1942, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph E. and the late Hope E. (Late Willis) (nee Hart) Close-Rick. Tim graduated from Wilson CSD. He served in the Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He was employed by Town of Cambria, NY Highway Dept. for 19 years before retiring. Tim was an avid Buffalo Bills fan but loved to spend most of his time with his family.
Surviving are his children; Wayne (Catherine) Close, Gene Close, Rob (Lynn) Close, Brad (Whitney) Close, Donelle (Scott) Wolfe and Lorne (Tina) Close; his sister, Judy (Bob) Skora; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a brother Arthur (late Gloria) Close and a sister Karen (late Jerry) Martin.
