Obituary of Wanda E. Burrows

Wanda E. Burrows (Nee Stephenson) 88, wife of 66 years to the late Donald A. Burrows passed away on Saturday December 18, 2021, at Elderwood of Lockport. Wanda was born in Niagara Falls on October 13, 1933, to the late Edmund J. Stephenson and Audrey Bridgeman Stephenson. She moved to the Town of Wilson and graduated from Wilson Central School in 1951 where she met her late husband Donald A. Burrows. They were married in 1952 and lived on the North Beebe Road where they owned and operated Burrows Fruit Farms and Burrows Welding. Wanda worked for the Town of Wilson for 30 years where she enjoyed her job and the people of the community of Wilson. She was a member of the Niagara County Municipal Clerks Association where she served as President, also the New York State Municipal Clerks Association and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. Wanda was a long-time member of the Exley United Methodist Church and the Wilson Historical Society. She was given many special recognitions for her contributions to the Town of Wilson. Wanda is survived by her son Donald K. Burrows (Paulette Duggan) and her grandchildren, Stephanie (James) Carl, Justin (Robyn) Burrows, Katelyn (Stephen) Burrow and Chelsea Smith; 2 great grandsons, Elliott Lucas Burow and Christian Joseph Burow; a great granddaughter Eleanor Burow; her brother Larry Stephenson and brother and sister-in-law Kenneth (Prudence) Burrows and sister in-law Janet Ellis. Wanda was blessed with many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Wanda is predeceased by her husband Donald, her beloved daughter Julie Burrows Smith also her siblings Lylia Oshea, Patricia Stephenson, Edmund Stephenson, and Donald Stephenson. Callings Hours will be held on MONDAY (12/27) from 4-8 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY. The funeral service will be held at the Exley UMC 338 Lake St. Wilson, NY on TUESDAY (12/28) at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery the same as were done for Don and Julie.
