My name is Maggie and I am the granddaughter of John Tower and I worked for him sometimes in the summers and he paid with ice cream but I wanted money so one day he took me to Helen‘s and drop me off and I work there with the black ladies picking cabbage it was the hardest job I ever had that was the best pay and most rewarding your mama was a strong woman I’ll always remember her and she was good to me and my family may God bless you and protect you in these difficult times.

Dear Paul, Steve, Leigh and Brett,
I was instantly saddened to read of Helen's passing. How very fond I was of her and Gerald .. It was a pleasure to care for them for many years. What an action filled life she enjoyed; Nursing with her dear friend ( and mine,) Connie Bush , raising a family and becoming a regional expert on cabbage growing ! She was amazing. Each spring I plant the Calla Bulbs she gave me many years ago- they grow beautifully as do my memories of a wonderful lady. God Bless Robert Bull, M.D.

To Paul, Brett, Leigh, families, and siblings. I don't know how to express my sympathy for the loss of your Mom, Sister. I am so deeply saddened as well by her loss, my dear friend of over 50 years. I have her voice on my cell from a message she left in September and have listened to it several times, I want to just call her up and hear her voice again. I have so many wonderful memories of the fun we had at Hardings Restaurant, the times we went out to dinner with she and Gerald, our trip to Florida when she and I sat in the back seat laughing most of the way to Florida, the time Gerald walked in the ladies room by mistake at a restaurant, our deep sea fishing trip catching a record number of Wahoo fish, we were even on TV. Just so many happy fun times. We helped each other through sad times in our lives as well. I will miss my dear friend forever, she was a wonderful, caring, and fun friend, God rest her soul, she is at Peace. Love her forever.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Helen. As a parishioner of Immaculate Conception, I had the pleasure of enjoying her wonderful cooking and baking talent. She had the most genuine and welcoming smile every time I saw her and as hard as it is to let her go, I’m happy for her that she’s gone to her heavenly home. Kelly Greenwald

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your sister. She has been my best friend since we were 16 years old, although I have lived in Texas fir years, I always stopped to see Helen and Gerry. We had many good times together, I stopped this Fall, and we laughed about the birds flying across the living room, will miss my best friend. Love Betty Tower Cortelli.
