Dorothy E. Napier (Nee VanDenBosch), age 95, of Lewiston, wife of the late Thomas A. Napier died Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Our Lady of Peace NCR in Lewiston, NY. Dorothy was born on January 15, 1926, in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Victor J. and the late Violet C. (Armstrong) VanDenBosch. She married Thomas A. Napier on May 10, 1947, he predeceased her on June 22, 2010. She was employed by Niagara University as a Library Clerk. Dorothy was a charter member of the Ladies of the Moose #1940 in Lewiston, the Lower River V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, the Lewiston Democratic Committee, Lewiston Historical commission, and Assoc., the Elks Punta Gorda Lodge #2606, she was an avid reader, loved gardening, traveling, antique collecting, and enjoyed dancing. Dot loved her church and was a devote Catholic. She was an active member in St. Peters Church over the years including a member of the building committee that worked to raise money to build the school and the church. She was also a member of the Alter and Rosary society. Dot was born and raised in Lewiston. She graduated from Lewiston Porter School and during WWII moved to Washington DC where she worked in defense department writing letters to families of missing and deceased soldiers. Dot moved back to Lewiston and began work at DuPont where she met her husband Tom. She is survived by two daughters; Judith Napier (Bryan Aaker) of Minneapolis, MN, Joan (Kim) Quarantillo of Lewiston, NY and two sons; Thomas P. Napier of Lewiston, NY, and Timothy Napier of Lewiston, NY also surviving are her grandchildren, Katie Robare, Patricia (Dennis) Sweatman, Kelly Strickland (Brian) and Julie Quarantillo, Jyssica, and Lukas Napier; her seven great grandchildren Taylor and Carly Sweatman, Maddalyn and Cooper Robare, Julian Strickland, Kolton Reimer and Maya Ndjarakana, her brother Laurence (Susan) VanDenBosch and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her siblings Allan (late Ruth), Paul, Jack (late Dolores) and William VanDenBosch also Norma (late Ivan) Harvey, Joan (late Joel) Dougherty and Janine (late Ernie) Murdoch, also a grandson Andrew Napier. A special thanks to Melissa, Jackie, Robin, and Michelle at OLP that took such great care of Dot (Ma) over the years. Calling hours will be held on SUNDAY from 2-6 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. Lewiston (N. Fourth and Ridge). A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on MONDAY at 10:30 AM. in St. Peter’s RC Church 600 Center St. Lewiston, NY 14092. Burial will be in Dickersonville Cemetery following.
