Mr. Band, You are an awesome gentle Man of God. You have blessed us in so many ways. The fact that you were a Royal Ranger
Commander was so cool to me, you didn't even have a son, but you spent years blessing boys with your time, money and talents. Thank you for sowing into so many lives in so many ways. Thank you for two of the best "sisters" ever, Marie and Cindi Lu Hoo. Thanks for all the memories, especially the water fight! Love you,and I will see you later, Kathy

My Dad was a World War II Veteran. He served 2 years in the war for his country and it affected him for his entire life. He lost a lot of his comrades and almost lost his life many times. He rarely spoke of it; once in a while he'd open up and talk about his experiences. But you could see how painful the memories were to him.
My Mom was given a folded U.S. Flag following his committal service at the cemetery. We didn't have an Honor Guard ceremony because my Dad was not ostentatious and he wouldn't have wanted all that attention because of his service. He was only 19 years old when he fought for his country; a time when life shouldn't have been so serious for a young teen.
The generation of World War II Vets is almost gone now; they're in their 80s and 90s. I hope that we will never forget what they did for our country.
