Shirley A. Martin 86, of Youngstown, wife of the Late Kenneth A. Martin Sr. entered into rest at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, NY on Tuesday October 26, 2021. Shirley was born on May 15, 1935, in Niagara Falls, NY to her late parents Benjamin J. Shapiro and Annie “Mayme” Stanley Shapiro. She was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Shirley married Kenneth Martin on March 16, 1957, he predeceased her in 1997. She was employed by the Lew-Port School District for 30 years as a teaching assistant. Shirley enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
Surviving are her children; Kenneth (Melanie) Martin Jr. of Lewiston and Brad (Susan) Martin of Florida; her siblings, Daniel M. (Diane) Shapiro, Gary J. (Barbara) Shapiro, David A. (Maryann) Shapiro and Terri J. (Angelo) Argentieri; 5 grandchildren Connor, Alana, Brooke, Drew, and Haylee; her sister-in-law Thelma Shapiro and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Robert R. Shapiro.
Visitation will be held on FRIDAY from 3-7 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. Lewiston, NY 14092 (N. Fourth and Ridge). Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on SATURDAY (10/30) at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Mason. Burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
