Obituary of Eldon Messer

James Eldon Messer, CMSgt, age 97, of Lewiston, husband of Eugenia Zinkiezich Messer stepped into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Eldon was born on August 31, 1924, in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late James A. and the late Minnie Bell (Ferguson) Messer. Eldon graduated from LaSalle H.S, he married Eugenia Zinkiezich on October 27, 1945. Eldon served in the military for 32 years starting with the Amy Air Corp. and finishing with the 914th Air Tach Group in Niagara Falls, NY at the rank of Chief Master Sgt. Eldon was a long-time active member of the former Forest Ave. Church of God and a current member of the Niagara Frontier Bible Church. Eldon was active over many years with Habitat of Humanity. Surviving is his wife,Eugenia (Zinkiezich) Messer; two daughters, Ellen (Francis) Scott of Virginia, and Eileen Messer of Lewiston, NY; his Siblings, Linda Atwater and Delmar Messer; grandchildren, Heathre Litz, Cory (Amy) Lemons and Melody (James) Riggs, also 9 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren. Eldon is predeceased by his siblings Geraldine, Joseph and Thelma Messer and Jackie Reed. Calling hours will be held at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. (N. Fourth and Ridge Streets) Lewiston, NY on WEDNESDAY from 4-7 PM. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on THURSDAY (10/7) at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Niagara Falls Memorial Park.
