Obituary of Joyce J. McCormick

Joyce J. McCormick, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on September 28, 2021,at the age of 86 after a brief illness. She was born in Niagara Falls, New York, on August 25,1935, the daughter of the late Svend and Mary (Madsen) Kragh. Joyce was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewiston as well as a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 355, where she was an active member for many years, serving as Matron of her Chapter as well as Grand Matron of the State of New York. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Ronald B. McCormick, her children, Karen(Michael) Smith of Wheatfield, Brenda (Mark) Parzynski of West Seneca, Lori (Jeffrey) Brennan of Delaware, Ohio, and Ronald S. (Quenna) McCormick of Lewiston, as well as 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was also survived by her sister, Shirley Foster of Niagara Falls, and brother-in-law, Donald McCormick of Lewiston. Joyce was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Grandma. Friends may call Friday, October 8, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hardison Funeral Home, 401 Ridge Street, (N.Fourth and Ridge Streets) Lewiston, New York. Burial will be at White Chapel Memorial Park, in Amherst, New York, at the convenience of the family.
