Obituary of Janine A. Murdoch

Janine A. Murdoch 82, of Lewiston entered into rest on Tuesday September 22, 2021, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. She was born on May 29, 1939, in Niagara Falls to her late parents Victor and Violet Armstrong VanDenBosch. Janine was a 1957 graduate of Lew-Port School. She married Ernest “Ernie” Murdoch on May 28, 1960, he predeceased her on January 11, 2013. Janine was employed as a waitress at the Clarkson House for 25 years and also tended bar at the Moose Lodge for 10 years. She was a charter member of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge #1940, Lewiston. She enrolled in the organization on January 12, 1991. Janine Served as chairperson on every committee and also was a Senior Regent, Academy of Friendship Degree, and a member of the Higher Degree Group. She also belonged to the Friends of the Lewiston Library Group. Janine was an avid League bowler for many years at Frontier Lanes. She enjoyed walking, reading, family gatherings and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving is her children, Theresa Murdoch (Patrick Thompson) and Michael Murdoch; her siblings Dorothy (Late Thomas) Napier and Laurence (Susan) VanDenBosch; her grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Rueter, Michael and Tyler Rueter also Brook and Cole Murdoch and 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 4 brothers Allan (Late Ruth), Paul (Late Joan), Jack (Late Dolores) and William “Bill” VanDenBosch and 2 sisters Norma (Late Ivan) Harvey and Joan (Late Joel) Dougherty. Calling hours will be held at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 401 Ridge St. (N. Fourth and Ridge Streets) Lewiston on MONDAY from 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s RC Church 600 Center St. Lewiston on TUESDAY at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in Dickersonville Cemetery.
