Robert “Bob” F. Shively was born in Philipsburg, PA on October 30, 1940 to Ray F. Shively and Adah (Kanouff) Shively. He is predeceased by his wife of 52 years Joan (Godyn) Shively. Bob’s family moved to Niagara Falls in 1950 for job opportunities and Bob graduated from LaSalle High School in 1959. As a young man he worked for 5 years in Ramblin Lou’s record store. Hired in 1959 by Hooker Chemical, retiring as a labor supervisor in 1996. Worked in the maintenance dept. at the Niagara Falls Country Club for many years. “Lion Bob” joined the Town of Niagara Lions Club in 1989, serving in many offices including becoming the District Governor in 2005 for a year. As a Lion Bob was a recipient of the Melvin Jones L.C.I.F. Award. He enjoyed serving his community including the Council for Older Adults, which in 2014 recognized him as the Niagara County Senior Citizen of the Year, and the Occidental Retirees. Bob was also a long time member of the Niagara Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his children, Michael (Tammy) Godyn, Robin (Anthony) Par Dee, Margaret (Brian) Hannam, Daniel (Heidi) Shively, Rebecca (Anthony) Vigue and special friend Jeanette Martinez. “Papa” to 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. “Uncle Bob” to many nieces and nephews. He is survived by a brother Marvin (Sandi) Shively, a sister Janet Pinto, and sister-in-law Patricia Shively. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother Richard Shively, step father Orlando Murphy, brother-in-law Roy Pinto and wife Judith Camardella. Family and Friends may call on THURSDAY from 2-8 PM at the Hardison Funeral Homes INC. N.Fourth and Ridge Sts, Lewiston, NY. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on FRIDAY at 10:00 AM with the burial to follow at Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to the Town of Niagara Lions Club 6634 Schultz St Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or to Niagara Presbyterian Church 3712 Military Rd, Niagara Falls, NY 14305.
