James E. Beckett, age 71, of Newfane and formerly of Lewiston entered into rest on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital Town of Tonawanda, NY. Jim was born on December 24, 1949 in Buffalo, NY. He is the son of the late George and the late Dolores (Doebler) Beckett. Jim retired in 2008 from Tops Market, Grand Island, NY as the Meat Dept. Manager. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, camping in Dansville for many years, fishing in Canada and loved his pet Greyhounds. Surviving are his son’s Mark (Mary Beth) Beckett and Alan (Christine) Beckett; his siblings George Beckett, Kathleen Brenon and Carol Galdon; his grandchildren Brian, Hannah, Evan, Tyler, and Madison Beckett; his Fiancée Kathy Mitchell and her children Kenny, Kevin, and Kristopher Mitchell and four- Step Children Richard Daubney, Gary (Noel) Daubney, Nancy Malecki and Dianna Malecki. Jim is predeceased by several siblings: Patricia Barth, Mary Lou Beckett, John Beckett, Judy Henderson, and David Beckett, also his late wife Joan F. (Armstrong) Butler. Calling hours will be held on MONDAY, May 10 from 4-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston, NY.
