Obituary of Helen L. (Kania) Tower

Helen L. (Kania) Tower, age 67 of Lewiston, died suddenly on Monday October 4, 2010 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Helen was born January 18, 1943 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Theodore and Julie Kania and was a 1961 graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She was an Executive Secretary for 15 years employed by the former Permanent Savings Bank, retiring in 1988. Helen married Richard P. Tower on June 21, 1988. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown and enjoyed cooking. In addition to her husband, Richard, she is survived by her step children, Amy (Daryl) Luchak of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Richard James (Becky) Tower of Louisville, KY, and Patrick (Danyelle) Tower of Ransomville; two brothers, Thaddeus J. (Bernadine) Kania of Youngstown and Albert V. (Jeannie) Kania of Niagara Falls, NY; a sister, Christine E. Kania of the Town of Wheatfield; her father and mother in law, Richard and Margaret (Truesdale) Tower; 8 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren. She was the special aunt of many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held in the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, on Saturday, October 30, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Charles Lamb officiating. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 100 Church St., Youngstown, NY 14174 or to the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Co. #1 Ambulance Fund, 145 N. 6th St. P.O. Box 748, Lewiston, NY 14092. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Rd., Ransomville, NY.
