Jane A. Brennen

Jane Anne Brennen, age 84 of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Monday April 26, 2021. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on February 21, 1937; Jane was the daughter of the late Helen (Dooher) and Oliver Hooker. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School and was employed by New York Telephone prior to starting her family. When not caring for her seven children, she kept a very active lifestyle enjoying many activities including golf, tennis, reading and boating. Jane lived a life full of passion that was apparent in everything she did. Above all else, family was the most important part of her life. The Brennen house truly had an open-door policy. In addition to her children, she was known as a second mother to more than half the neighborhood. She cherished spending time with her family and friends at the lake. Jane's adventurous spirit could be seen in her frequent travels; an infectious trait that she passed to her entire family. Jane is survived by her two sisters, Mary Sullivan and Sister Mary Cecelia Hooker; six children, Joseph (Deborah) Brennen, Robert (Deanna) Brennen, Patricia (Randy) Duncan, Michael Brennan, Margaret (Martin) Loughran, and Mark (Jessica) Brennen; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Robert J. Brennen, her son Mathew Brennen, and brother Thomas Hooker. Friends and family may call at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Saturday, May 1, from 1 to 3 pm. A remembrance and celebration of her life will begin at 3 pm. Flowers are gratefully declined.
