Obituary of Genevieve Jakubek

Genevieve Jakubek, age 93, formerly of Ransomville died Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston, NY. Genevieve was on born April 8, 1927 in Niagara Falls, NY. She is the daughter of the late Nicholas and the late Sophie (Matiasz) Matiash. Genevieve attended and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1944 and went on to work for Moore Business Forms for 10 years until she married Louis P. Jakubek on September 22, 1956, he predeceased her on November 15, 1985.Genevieve enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, ceramics, bingo, traveling with her family to Wasaga Beach , Ontario, planning family celebrations and spending time with her family. Surviving are her children; Barbara (James) Janese of Youngstown, NY, and Donna (Roger) Carr of North Tonwanda; 2 grandsons, Joshua Janese (Morgan Swift) and Jeremy Janese (Darya Shchenina), also several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Walter Matiasz and Nicholas Matiash. Family and friends may call on SATURDAY from 4-7 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOME INC. 3648 Ransomville Road. Ransomville, NY 14131. The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on SUNDAY, March 21 at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 6950 Ward Rd., North Tonawanda, NY with Rev. Michael Borgstede officiating.
