BAKER - Margaret Jeanie Passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 in N. Tonawanda, NY at the age of 90. She was born in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada on March 29, 1930 to the late Hector and Annie Trotter. Margaret attended the University of Toronto where she earned a BA in General Studies. She met the love of her life, Melvin Charles Baker at the same university and they married on June 26, 1954. Soon after, they moved to New Haven, CT where Mel attended Yale University. Upon graduation, Mel and Margaret moved to the Niagara Falls area where they raised their four children in Youngstown, NY. Margaret loved her family, pets, and being a homemaker. She also enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, traveling, sewing, and sports. She worked at DiCamillo’s Bakery in Lewiston as a clerk for 25 years. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Melvin but is survived by her four children; daughter, Susan Hansen and husband, Mark of Myrtle Beach, SC; son, James Baker and wife, Lisa of Amelia Island, FL, son, Thomas Baker and his wife Viki of Conroe, TX, and daughter, Jane Wence and husband, Francisco of Niagara Falls, NY; as well as nine grandchildren, Matthew, Cameron (Erika), James (Amara), Nick (Kati), Christina, Stephanie, Harrison, Frankie and Ralphie and five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Grayson, Emma, Peyton and Malia and nephew, Marvin Thomas Baker. The family held a graveside service for the immediate family only on Tuesday, March 16th. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Niagara County SPCA and the Audubon Society. Arrangements entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. Ransomville.
