Gene grew up in Niagara Falls and met the love of her life, Edward Bank, who she married on May, 6th 1950. This year they would have celebrated their 71st wedding Anniversary. They raised six children together at the house they built on Porter Center Road in Lewiston, NY and later on their farm in Ransomville; Edward, Jr. who predeceased them in 2008, Diane (Donald) Williams of San Antonio, TX, Robert (Lynn) of Tybee Island, GA, Catherine Burns (Fiancée Michael Jones) of Lewiston, NY, Patricia (Thomas) Wasley of Monument, CO, and Danny (Lisa) Bank of Granville, OH. Also, survived by several Grandchildren; Brenda Rodenberg, Jennifer (Andy) Potter, Donald, Michael (Raeland) and Sarah Williams, R. Joseph, Jason( Jackie) and Jared (Chelsea) Burns, Bradley and Dylan Bank and 12 great grandchildren and one on the way. For many years Gene worked as a Nurse’s Aide at the former Ransomville Nursing Home, eventually retiring from Mt. View Health Care Facility, then continued doing home health care for many years. Gene was always working around the farm and enjoyed planting her flowers and trees around the farmhouse, cooking and baking from scratch, all while teaching her children and grandchildren how to cook and bake, and especially, making the best grape jelly from grapes she grew and picked on their farm. Everyone looked forward to enjoying her spaghetti dinner, jelly and baked goods. In addition, Gene was an avid reader, and loved crocheting afghans for her family. She also enjoyed traveling to see her children, taking trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods Casino, as well as, going to the Ft. Erie Racetrack with Edward, her brother Joey and his wife Margaret. Gene was predeceased by her parents (Mary and Joseph Raymond), brothers, Joseph, John, Chester, Daniel, Edward, William and Franklin and sister Theresa Belkota. She is survived by sisters Julia Works, Frances Cassick, and Rosemarie Bank. Gene kept a special place in her heart for her sister Rosemarie and her niece, Brenda Bank. Gene was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be sadly missed by Edward, her family and all that knew her. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice House, Lockport, N.Y.
