I had never met John, he left the fire company before my time. I do know John Jr., and the way that he presents himself and treats others leaves a great impresstion on me about John Sr. It shows he had to be a man who was proud and decent. May He Go With God in Peace!

My condolences to Lucy and family. John Stevens was a real gentleman and a fine man. A real steady head in times of stress and a great understanding of his fellow man. With John as my foreman I was able to enjoy the best work experience of my entire working career. I could not be prouder to also have been his friend. He will always have a place in my heart.
