Obituary of Robert A. Dinse

On Tuesday, February 9, 2021, Robert Allen Dinse of Wilson, NY, passed away from Alzheimer’s at the age of 81. Bob was born on September 20, 1939, son of Ralph and Helen Dinse. He was a graduate of Medina High School where he was a great all-around athlete and continued his studies earning degrees in education and administration at Ithaca College, SUNY Buffalo and Niagara University. He is most remembered for being the athletic director, teacher and coach at Wilson High School for over 30 years before retiring and working another 13 years as Executive Secretary of Section VI athletics. Selected into both the Wilson High School and Section VI Halls of Fame, he was passionately dedicated to high school sports and encouraging athletes to be their very best. He will fondly be remembered for his love of the Orange and Black.
Bob and his wife Marlene loved spending time with their two sons’ and their families, always there to drop what they were doing to lend a helping hand.
Bob is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Marlene and his dog Molly who were both by his side everyday battling his Alzheimer’s disease. Bob is also survived by his two brothers, Thomas (Donna) and Eugene (Kathleen), several nieces and nephews, his sons, Scott (Marilyn) and Jeffrey (Catherine), and his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Emmett, Alexander, and Isabel.
Calling hours will be from 4-8 on Friday, February 12th, 2021 at the Hardison Funeral Home Inc. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday (Feb 13) at Exley Methodist church 338 Lake St. Wilson, NY 14172.
