Obituary of Shirley A. Evans

Shirley A. Evans, age 95, formerly of Randall Rd. Town of Wilson entered into rest on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Mrs. Evans was born in St. Clair, Michigan on October 14, 1925, she is the daughter of the late John and the late Genevieve (Slocum) Owens. She married Walter W. Evans on May 14, 1949, he predeceased her on March 26, 2019. Shirley worked at Dupont as a lab assistant during WWII and also was a dental hygienist in buffalo, but was mostly a homemaker in her own home most of her life. She is survived by her children Dr. Paul (Betsy) Evans of St. Petersburg, FL, Mary Lou (Greg) Carter of Cambria, Sue Anne (David) Polasky of Rochester; her sister Barbara Bowman; 9 grandchildren, numerous, great grandchildren ,nieces and nephews. Shirley is predeceased by two children James (Late Maureen O’Connor) Evans, David (Late Vicki Valery) Evans; granddaughters Rebecca and Kristina Evans; her siblings John Owens, Jackie Sax and Nancy Waters. Family and friends may call on FRIDAY from 10AM-12PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. Funeral services will be held immediately following at 12PM in the funeral home with Pastor Shelly Andrews officiating. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
