Obituary of William J. Ruth Jr.

William J.” Uncle Bill” Ruth, Jr., age 69, of Lewiston and husband of Sharon (Halliday) Ruth entered into rest on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. William was born on May 19, 1951 in Buffalo, NY. He is the son of the late William J. and the late Catherine (Pinkel) Ruth Sr. Bill was a graduate of Cardinal O’Hara High School going on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Niagara University. He married Sharon Halliday on October 6, 1973 they had been married for 47 years. Bill was employed by Nabisco in Niagara Falls, NY as a Supervisor from 1973- 1986. He enjoyed Sailing, fishing, swimming, he was an avid Buffalo Bills fan but most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he will always be remembered as having a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife: Sharon; his children, Lauren (Suren) Gobin and Alyson Ruth; his Sibling, Dr. Margaret Ruth-Pepe Phd. (Dr. Richard Pepe, MD), Eugene (Martha) Ruth, Richard (Barbara) Ruth; his grandchildren Carter, Madelyn and Kingston; brother in-law to Debra (Paul) Skalla, Gary (Debbi) Halliday and the late Rick (late Nancy) Halliday; son in-law to Dorothy Halliday; uncle to Deidre (Mike) Rynerson, Kristen Halliday, Jeremy Skalla and Donald Halliday. The family would like to send a special Thank You to Dr. Charles Rice and Staff at the Wound Treatment Center at Mount St. Mary’s and also the aides at Our Lady of Peace. Due to Covid-19 situation services will be held privately with his family. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
