Peter M. Wilson, age 84 of Niagara Falls NY, died Friday September 17, 2010 in the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Peter was born June 29, 1926 in the Town of Niagara on the old Route 47 Witmer Rd. when it was still in the Lewiston mailing district, the son of the late Peter and Marion "Maise" (Forrest) Wilson. He lived most of his life in the Town of Niagara until moving to Niagara Falls in 2004. Peter was a Veteran of WW II, serving as an infantryman in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge in Northern France and the Rhineland while with the 264th Infantry Regiment. He was also the recipient of the American Campaign Medal; the Army of Occupation Medal, the European-African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the WW II Victory Medal. Peter worked at Olin Mathieson Chemical Co. and retired from Chisholm -Ryder in 1987 after 20 years as an Assembly Worker. He is survived by a sister, Marion Robinson of Marietta, GA; two nieces, Mary Koltys of Marietta, GA and Diane R. (Bruce) Carminati of Bel Air, MD; great nephew, James B. (Julie) Carminati of Youngstown; and great nieces, Caren E. (John Charles) Carminati-Remsberg of New Providence, PA and Barbara D. (Jeff Pillas) of Hunt Valley, MD. He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara M. Cummings. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 21, at 10:00 AM in HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston. There will be no prior visitation. Burial will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
