Thomas W. Adamson was called to his eternal rest on January 18, 2021, at the age of 70 after contracting COVID 19. Tom was born on October 26, 1950 in Clearfield, Pennsylvania. He was one of seven children of the late Robert and Leah Adamson. While Tom and his family moved to Western New York in the early 1950’s, Tom maintained a fondness for Clearfield throughout his life. Tom graduated from Lewiston Porter High School in 1968 and Brockport College in 1972. In 1972 he married his high school sweet-heart, Linda J. Cutler who predeceased him in 2019. They settled in Youngstown in a home built by Tom with the assistance of his brothers. Tom loved his family and raised three children: Dawn Laughlan, George Adamson (Jenny); and Melissa Ammons (CJ). He was proud of his eleven grandchildren: Spc. Anthony Tamul (Kaylee), Spc. Michael Tamul, Zachary Tamul, Brandon Tamul, Johnathan Adamson, Matthew Adamson, Elizabeth Adamson, Joshua Adamson, Logan Ammons, Ruby Ammons and Luke Ammons. In addition to his children and grandchildren, Tom is survived by his six siblings, Cameron Adamson (Twila), Gary Adamson (Linda), Timothy Adamson (Laurie), Douglas Adamson (Linda), Joy Khatib, David Adamson (Caroline). Tom was a licensed insurance agent. He sold insurance through John Hancock and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company before starting his own company, Adamson Insurance Agency. Tom was well respected in the industry, becoming a friend to many and received numerous awards for being a top salesman. Tom was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church where he spent years teaching confirmation class. Tom was a car enthusiast and enjoyed going to car shows with his late wife and grandkids. He loved music and was also a regular at the Artpark Tuesday night concert series with his friend Jim. Tom was also an avid runner, something he had enjoyed since high school when his high school cross country team won the championship. More recently he could be seen cheering on his grandchildren and was awarded Lew-Port Cross Country Number 1 fan. He continued running later in life and could be regularly seen running at Fort Niagara. He won 1 st place in his age group at the Hamlin Beach Shoreline 5k in July of 2020.
