Karen E. Baker, age 78, formerly of Youngstown and Ransomville entered into rest on Monday, November 9, 2020 in Lewiston. Karen was born June 19, 1942 in Norfolk, VA. She is the daughter of the late Fred and the late Lillian (Quicke) Gratz. She attended St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Karen was a Registered Nurse, she retired from Duke University Medical Center in 2008 after 20 years of nursing. Previously Karen had worked at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and several other hospitals as an operating room nurse. She enjoyed cooking and doing seamstress work. Karen is survived by her children Jeffrey (Gloria) Baker and Debra (Bill) Mussel both of Ransomville; her sister Freida Gratz of Diboll, Texas; her grandchildren Marie (Joe) Kilmer, Christine (Adam) Held, Amber Baker and Alec Baker; two great grandchildren Kensley and Marlow Kilmer. Family and friends may call on THURSDAY from 3 – 7 PM. at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 Ransomville Road Ransomville, NY 14131. Funeral services will be held on FRIDAY at 11:00 AM. in the funeral home. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery following. Memorial donations may be made to Niagara Co. SPCA.
