Obituary of Gary G. Cooper Sr.

Gary G. Cooper, Sr., age 79, of the Town of Lewiston and husband of Claudia Mallette Cooper passed away at home on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 with his wife by his side. Gary was born on February 1, 1941 in Niagara Falls, NY. He is the son of the late George and the late Helen (Shmidli) Cooper Sr. He married Claudia Mallette on October 16, 1976. Gary was employed for 30 years at Colavecchia Auto and Collision where he was the Shop Manager. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, attending car shows and his pride and joy was his 1936 Buick. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Claudia; four daughters Jill (Michael) Rhoat, Samantha Cooper (Jason Brown), Pamela Shul and Denise (Randy) Berube; a son Gary Cooper Jr. and Step son Stephen (Amanda) Deskovic; his twin brother Jere (Barbara) Cooper and brothers Larry Cooper and Mark (Margaret) Cooper. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be missed by his sister in law Judith Gibbs and his dog Buddy. Gary is predeceased by a brother George Cooper Jr. and two sisters Helen “Tootsie" Falcone and Nancy Andrews. As per Gary’s wishes no services will be held at this time.
