Obituary of John Richard Chamberlain

John Richard “Dick” Chamberlain, age 87, of Niagara Falls, formerly of Ransomville died Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Schoellkopf Health Center in Niagara Falls, NY. Dick was born on January 3, 1933 in Syracuse, NY. He is the son of the late Edward and the late LaAnna (MacDonald) Chamberlain. He married Alice Weed on May 16, 1953, she predeceased him on November 13, 2005. Dick served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1953. He was employed by Penn Central Railroad as a Gandy Dancer for 35 years. Dick enjoyed sports, NASCAR, and Bowling. He was a member of the O'Leo Curtiss American Legion Post 830, also the American Legion Post 381 in Niagara Falls and the VFW Post 917 in Niagara Falls. Dick is survived by his children; Linda Keiper, Mary Jane ( Bill) Willimott ,Edith (Bill) Hillman, John (Hilda) Chamberlain; his Siblings, Mike (Ann Marie) Chamberlain and June Zimmerman; 13 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren also many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two children Nicky (David) Kneeppel and Cindy Robins also his brother’s Kenneth (Late Shirley),Howard (Late Elaine), Marvin, Robert, and Edward “Jerry” (Late Dorothy) Chamberlain. Family and friends are invited to call on SUNDAY from 3-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. 3648 Ransomville Rd. Ransomville, NY 14131. Funeral Services will be held on MONDAY (9/21) at 9:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
