James Michael Hoysradt, 81, loving husband of Irene Hoysradt, passed away on July 25, 2020 in Lewiston, New York. Jim was born on May 2, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA. He grew up in Watertown, NY where he enlisted in the United States Navy and served onboard Destroyers during the early 50’s. After completing his service in the Navy, he worked for RCA and Great Lakes Carbon and met the love of his life, Irene and married in March 1965. Jim loved fishing and camping and picnics with his family. Jim loved giving to his community and served as a volunteer fireman for Upper Mountain Fire Company for 15 years. Jim was a romantic at heart and chivalrous to the core. He had a huge heart and kindred spirit which reflected in his love for his family, his greatest accomplishment. Jim absolutely adored his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and never forgot to mention how proud he was of all of them. Jim will always be remembered for his loving humor and conversations. Jim loved to meet people and always took the time to form new friendships.
Jim was predeceased by his sister, Karen Nash. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Irene; and his four children, Albert Hoysradt (Joy Elizabeth) of Lewiston, NY; Theresa Mariani (Mark) of Wilson, NY; Christine Clary (Edward) of Grand Blanc, MI; James Hoysradt II of Kingsville, TX; 9 grandchildren (Zachary, Stephanie, Jack, Owen, Kurtis, AJ, Frances, Adam and Samantha ; and four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on THURSDAY from 2-6 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. N. Fourth and Ridge Sts. Lewiston, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on FRIDAY ( July 31) at 10:00 AM in St. Peter RC Church 600 Center St. Lewiston, NY 14092. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
