Obituary of M. Beverly Wise

M. Beverly Wise (née Hampton) April 4, 1927 - May 28, 2020, passed peacefully at the age of 93 in Schoellkopf Health Center. Beverly was born in Louisville, KY. She met and married her loving husband of 60 years, William H. (Bill), in Louisville. Bill predeceased Beverly in 2007. Beverly is survived by her five children, James (Margaret) Wise, Leslie Wise, Nancy (Ronald) Walla, Peggy (Vincent) Grandinetti, and Carol (Dimitrios) Dandolos; five grandchildren, Anna (Steven) Thomas, Michael (Elizabeth Monroe) Wise, Tony (Kelly) Pontigo, Carol Pontigo, and Niko Dandolos; eight great-grandchildren, Brittany, Dylan, Jenna, Adelaide, Ella, Dominick, Isabella, and Taylor. She was also predeceased by her five siblings and their spouses. Beverly was an avid bridge player and was excellent at the game. She loved a challenging game of Scrabble, and could also be found working the daily crossword (including the NY Times Crossword) in ink. She knew all the right and unusual words. She successfully managed 25 moves across West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, New Jersey, Toronto, Canada and Western New York. As a homemaker she could do it all: wallpaper, paint, sew, knit, decorate, and garden. Her Christmas cookies were legendary and desired by all family members and friends. These were just a few of her talents for creating a wonderful home for her family. She was an amazing mom, who will be greatly missed, and will be forever in our hearts.
