Robert “Bob” Schemel, born February 9, 1957, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at home after a brief illness. Bob had a profound impact on everyone he met. He was always quick to lend a helping hand or a warm smile, and the wonderful memories and lessons he left behind are unparalleled. The things he helped build and fix will stand as lasting reminders of his capable hands and brilliant mind. Many in the community will remember him for his volunteer work at the Youngstown Free Library and for the countless driveways and sidewalks he snowblowed every winter.

He had a long career in industrial equipment, providing sales and support for companies needing anything from industrial batteries, cranes, forklifts, fans, and loading dock doors. He retired from Arbon Equipment in 2018. Since his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, golfing with his brothers, spending time with his daughter and son-in-law, and embarking on new adventures with his grandson.
