Sincere condolences to the Ortiz family. I knew Ed and all the Ortiz family from being raised in Ransomville. I remember the track in back of Ortiz Garage, used to go there with my Sister and friends, we would sit on top of cars and watch the "Ransomville Slowpokes" race around the homemade track, what fun, lots of dirt and dust!! ED was a mentor to my Brother Doug who started racing at Ransomville Speedway. Ed was a wonderful person as is the whole family. So very sorry for the loss of a great Ransomville Icon, and thank you to him for all the great racing days.

My condolences to Ed's family. Ed was one of my dad's childhood chums. I spent some fun times at the garage in the 70s w/ my dad. So glad to share some memories with Ed at my dads funeral back in 2015. Murle Collins son, Kevin

My memories of Mr. Ortiz are always of someone with a big smile and a kind word. I would plant a tree in his memory, but I think I’ll plant some tomatoes and maybe a squash or two. That seems to be more appropriate for me.
I wish comfort and peace for Mrs. Ortiz and the family left behind.

We were very saddened to hear of the loss of Ed. Our prayers go out to the Ortiz family. It would not have been a day at our NAPA store that Ed would show up 5 minutes before closing. We have many fond memories of him and will cherish them.
