Obituary of Larry Krizan

Larry Krizan,72 of Wilson, NY husband of Robbie Walton Krizan died on Sunday February 22nd, 2020 after a long illness. He was born on October 16th, 1947 in Niagara Falls. He was the second of three sons born to Frank and Emilie Krizan. He attended local schools graduating in 1965 where he won an athletic scholarship to Johns Hopkins University where he earned a BA in 1970, prior to graduating he married Robbie Walton on December 26, 1968. After completing a graduated degree in social sciences at the State University of Buffalo he went on to hold key positions in past Niagara Falls City administrations, serving as Director of Planning and Development and working with Niagara Falls Neighborhood Housing Services until his retirement in 2008.
Larry was a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners which is the professional arm of the American Planning Association that certifies urban and rural planners. During his tenure with the city he emphasized the need for extensive transportation opportunities of a world class stature to secure the city’s share of the international tourism market.
Larry was an ardent camper and fisherman, angling in the Lower Niagara River in every season of the year. He loved sitting by a campfire recalling outdoor adventures with his friends and cherishing their company.
Surviving is he loving wife Robbie and his brothers and best friends Richard and Dennis Krizan.
Services previous scheduled for March 28th have been Postponed. Burial was held privately with his family in Oakland Rural Cemetery.
