Obituary of Larry G. Trank SMSgt. Ret.

Larry G. Trank, age 82, of Wilson, NY, husband of the late Nancy J. Trank, died on Saturday, October 19, 2019 after a brief illness.  Larry was born July 29, 1937 in Olean, NY.  He is the son of the late Gordon and the late Ellen Stillman Trank.  He married Nancy Herrmann on June 30, 1961, she predeceased him on January 17, 2019.  

He served in the Air Force and the New York Air National Guard for 38 years from 1954 to 1992, retiring at the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He served during the Vietnam War and was employed as a federal civilian employee with the Air National Guard in Niagara Falls, NY.

 Larry enjoyed his family, winters in St. Petersburg, FL and collecting model trains. He was a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) and the Ransomville United Methodist Church serving as Treasurer.

 He is survived by his children Beth (Rick) Sutherland of Wilson, David (Elyse) Trank of Wilson and Michael (Teresa) Trank of Newfane, NY; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and predeceased by his sisters Kathy Sanko and Sharon Fisher.

 Family and friends may call on FRIDAY, October 25 from 3-7 PM at HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on SATURDAY, October 26 with military honors in the funeral home with Rev. Matthew Worley officiating.  Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria at a later date.
