Obituary of Pauline P. Rueter

Pauline P. Rueter, age 88, of Lewiston wife of the late Herman J. Rueter entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Buffalo General Medical Center of Buffalo, NY.  Pauline was born August 8th, 1931 in St. Raphaels , Ontario, Canada. She is the daughter of the late Jean and the late Rose (Albina) Poupart. She graduated from Niagara Falls HS in 1949. Pauline married Herman J. Rueter on September 4, 1954 and lived on James Dr. in Lewiston for 60 years before moving to Youngstown in 2013.  

She worked as a sales clerk at Jenss Department Store for 20 years retiring in 1998. Pauline helped with her mother's catering business "Rose "Beanie"Poupart Catering" in Niagara Falls. She loved her children and grandchildren and attended all of their activities and sporting events. She was fondly known as the "Soup Queen" and "Stain Remover Queen". She especially enjoyed attending her 1949 NFHS "Forty-Niners Girls" Lunch group. She was a communicant of St. Peter's and St. Bernard's RC Churches and also enjoyed square dancing, playing cards and was a master mender/sewer.

She is survived by five daughters: Gale (Dennis) Stornelli of Lewiston, NY, Mary Beth (Jim) Carroll of Ransomville, NY, Carol (Bruce) Matthews of Youngstown, NY, Caryn (late Robert) Graby of Rochester, NY and Lisa Rueter of Kennesaw, GA,; her sister Rhea (late John) Whitham of Lewiston, NY; her brother Paul (Jeanette) Poupart of Wilmington, NC,  9 grandchildren Mary Carol Graby, Laura (Tim) Korn, Jillian Graby, Leah (Ben) Zahradnik, Hannah Matthews (Jay Kling), Madeline Matthews, Cory Carroll, Tim Carroll, Andy Carroll and 3 great grandchildren Graham Korn, Benjamin and Austyn Zahradnik. Pauline is predeceased by her brother Robert Poupart.

Family and friends may call on FRIDAY from 3-8 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES INC. N. Fourth and Ridge Sts. Lewiston, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on SATURDAY, October 12th at St. Bernard’s RC Church Second and Hinman Sts. Youngstown, NY 14174 with Rev. Thomas Mahoney officiating. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
