Obituary of Donna M. Robinson

Donna M. Robinson, age 86, a lifelong resident of the Town of Cambria, died Tuesday July 20, 2010 in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Residence in Lewiston, after a long illness. Donna was born October 1, 1923 in the Town of Cambria, the daughter of the late James D. and Donna Catherine (Campbell) Meahl. She was a graduate of Wilson High School, Class of 1941. On June 27, 1942 she married Chester A. Robinson. Together they operated Robinson Farms in Cambria and Donna took their produce to the Niagara Falls City Market most of her adult life. She was a member of the North Ridge United Methodist Church and was a long time Sunday School teacher. Donna was a very active member of the Church's Women Society of Christian Service and had held various positions within the Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cambria Volunteer Fire Co. Donna enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling and playing the organ. Most of all, she enjoyed being with her family. Her husband, Chester, predeceased her on July 3, 2008. She is survived by her children, Catherine (William) Robins of the Town of Lockport, David Robinson of Hillside, NJ, Donald Robinson (Kim) of the Town of Cambria, and Susan (Keith) Sawatsky of Niagara Falls, Ontario; her grandchildren, Laurie Robins, Susan Diviak, Gregory (Tania) Robinson, Christine (Dan) Denny, Matthew and Adam Sawatsky; her great grandchildren, Hayden, Paige, and Chase Diviak, Brittney Sawatsky, Riley and Shelby Robinson; two sisters, Mary Alice (the late Theodore) Kleinhan of the Town of Lockport and Jacqueline Kollatz of Colden, NY; a sister in law, Marjorie Meahl of the Town of Cambria as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Clarence and Rollin Meahl. Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERALHOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 23, at 11:00 am in the funeral home, with the Rev. Matthew T. Worley officiating. Burial will follow in North Ridge Cemetery, Church Rd., Town of Cambria.
