Obituary of David R. Stubbs

David R. Stubbs, age 79 of Ransomville, died Saturday June 1, 2019 in the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

David was born November 8, 1939 in North Tonawanda, the son of the late Rowland and Helene (Proefrock) Stubbs. He was a graduate of North Tonawanda. High School, attended Erie Community College, and received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson College before attending Cornell University. David was an Electrical Engineer for Bell Aerospace, and consulted with Lockheed Martin. He was also affiliated with the WNY Institute for Psychotherapy and worked seven years at Melody Fair in North Tonawanda. David was a caretaker at Camp Windy Meadows since 1993. David was an accomplished guitarist and a 30 year member of the Lockport Federation of Musicians.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Edna G. (Sherman) Stubbs, whom he married May 26, 1962; his children, Darlene L. Stubbs and Kevin D. Stubbs both of Ransomville; and his grandchildren, Jonathan L. Burnett and Charles Baudendistle (fiancé Rachel Dutton). He was predeceased by a sister, Barbara H. Frase.

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Wednesday, June 5, from 5 to 8 pm. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Girl Scouts of WNY, for Windy Meadows Camp, 5000 Cambria Rd., Lockport, NY 14094.
