Obituary of Donald J. Cornell

Donald J. Cornell, age 61 of Ransomville, died Sunday July 11, 2010 at home surrounded by family and under the care of Niagara Hospice. Don was born August 31, 1948 in Ransomville, the son of the late Roy and Eleanor (Zurbrugg) Cornell and was a lifelong resident. He served in the U.S. Air Force, attended Buffalo State College, and was later employed as a Machinist by Diversified Mfg. Co. for over 35 years. Don was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Youngstown. He enjoyed watching his two daughter's horseback ride and later founded Stable Tack Shop in Lockport and Hunters Ridge Stables in Ransomville. He is survived by his daughters, Lindsay Cornell (Jaren Israel) of Ransomville and Kimberly (Matthew) Fort of Tonawanda; a brother, Robert (Debbie) Cornell and children of Rochester, NY; and other beloved family members, Roxann Cornell, Emma DeWinter, Lisa Snyder (Roy Campbell), and Brandi Camenga and family. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 24, at 11:00 am at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston. There will be no prior visitation. A reception will follow at the Brickyard Restaurant, Center St., Lewiston. Memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094.
