Obituary of Betty Jean Moore

Betty- Jean Moore, 81 of Lewiston, NY wife of the late Richard F. Moore entered into rest on Saturday December 22, 2018 and is spending this Christmas with poppy. She was under the care of Niagara Hospice at the Northgate Health Care Facility in North Tonawanda, NY. Mrs. Moore was born in Barton, VT on October 02, 1937 to the late Hermon and Lucy Friend Hunt. Betty was a graduated of LaSalle High School class of 1955. On November 17, 1956 she married Richard F. Moore. Betty was employed as a special education teacher’s aide with the Lewiston-Porter School District for 25 plus years. She was an active member of the 3-F Club where she enjoyed skeet shooting, The Order of the Eastern Star- LaSalle Flagler Chapter # 355. Betty enjoyed quilting and sewing with her friends and volunteering at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital with her friend Milt

She is survived by her daughter; Susanne (William) Johnson; her son: Richard F. (Laurie) Moore Jr; a sister Colleen (Greg) Moore; 5 grandchildren Nicholas Johnson (Karisa Reid),

Morgan (Ryan) Cooper, Raymond (Amanda) Moore, Richard (Katherine) Moore III and Randy Moore also 12 great grandchildren. Betty is predeceased by her brother Hermon Hunt.

Family and friends may call on THURSDAY (Dec 27) from 4-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES Inc., N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston. Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home on FRIDAY at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. Rex Stewart officiating. Burial will be in the Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda at a later date.
