Obituary of Joan F. Butler
Joan F. Butler, age 75 of Lewiston, died Sunday July 29, 2018 in the Buffalo General Medical Center after a brief illness.
Joan was born March 10, 1943 in Wilson, NY, the daughter of the late Harold Armstrong and Edith (Nichols) Armstrong Shank. A graduate of Niagara Falls High School, she was employed by Tops Market in Grand Island for 20 years where she had served as a Deli Manager and as a Personnel Manager. On March 6, 1992 she married James E. Beckett. They enjoyed camping in Dansville for many years as well as fishing in Canada. Joan especially loved her Greyhounds.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Beckett; her children, Richard (Julie) Daubney, Gary (Noel) Daubney, Nancy and Dianna Malecki; her step sons, Mark (Mary Beth) Beckett and Alan (Christine) Beckett; her grandchildren, Anthony, Shea, and Cole Daubney, Matthew and Michael Malecki; five step grandchildren; and a sister, Paula Oliver. She was predeceased by a son, Scott Malecki.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Streets, Lewiston on Thursday, August 2, from 4 - 8 pm. Services will be private. Memorials may be made to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
